Is Online Gambling Good with Congress?
The US is getting even closer to a free market with online gambling with more big moves from the major online gambling companies in play. While many were hoping that online gambling would be in place at the end of last year, it does look as though it will be available in states where it is legal within the next few months. Many are wondering how the structure of such a large undertaking will manifest itself.
It looks as though online gambling will fall under state legislation until the federal government can catch up. By allowing states to regulate online gambling, the US will stand to make more money on online gambling in the first year than it would under any kind of national legislation.
Several of the states that have been hardest hit by bad unemployment numbers are the ones that will push online gambling through the state legislature to get more streams of revenue going as soon as possible. The online gambling industry is already a billion dollar industry and the addition of US players back into the market will potentially double those figures in the next four years.
